Thrive…our Charity partner

Dedici is delighted to be supporting Thrive, the gardening for health charity. It is a cause close to our hearts both professionally and personally. Thrive combines our passions of gardening and wellbeing – and we are excited about the potential for STH (see below) to play an increasing role in Social Prescribing.

“To bring health and horticulture closer together so that many more people achieve positive outcomes through Social & Therapeutic Horticulture.”

Thrive is the gardening for health charity who help to improve people’s physical and mental health through gardening and horticulture. Their aim is to ensure that people with varying needs have the opportunity to access therapeutic gardening programs and are actively encouraged to use gardening as part of their personal health and well-being management.

They use gardening to bring about positive changes in the lives of people living with disabilities or ill health, or who are isolated, disadvantaged or vulnerable.

They have over 40 years experience in an approach called Social and Therapeutic Horticulture (STH), where trained horticultural practitioners work with plants and people to improve an individual’s physical and psychological health, communication, and social skills. Thrive also provide gardening for health information for people all across the country and the world via the Get Gardening section of their website.

Dedici is pleased to be supporting Thrive in a variety of ways, including:

  • free Dedici workshops
  • free 1:1 coaching
  • promoting Thrive to our delegates – mostly healthcare professionals
  • individual fundraising activities such as sponsored runs
